Individual Supervision
I offer individual supervision in Mentalization-Based approaches to a wide range of therapeutic work, especially where there is risk and uncertainty, and where there are complex issues involving team, organisations, or the wider multi-professional network , or where a more disciplined approach towards learning from work is sought.
I use a mentalizing approach to structure my supervisions, most often the AMBIT practice of ‘Thinking Together’, so that supervisions start with us mentalizing you, the worker, in order first to ‘Mark the Task’ for us and to align the help that might be offered through building a shared understanding of what kind of help you think you need. More details on this practice can be shared if required. It is an approach to professional helping conversations that is used in teams around the world, designed to help ensure that supervisor and supervisee find attunement without losing sight of the underlying clinical needs.
