Team Supervision
I am an experienced supervisor for whole teams, especially those who work in contexts of high risk and uncertainty, with multiple intersecting needs that often involves complex networks of different professionals and agencies.
My supervision is based on the principles and practice of AMBIT (Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrative Treatment, which I co-founded with Peter Fuggle) with a focus across the four quadrants of the ‘AMBIT wheel’:
(a) individual client-facing work
(b) the creation and sustenance of a mentalizing team around individual workers
(c) the work of integrating multiple forms of help that may be dependent on multiple different helping agencies or individuals in your networks.
(d) a stance of active learning from that work, with the purpose of facilitating necessary adaptations to improve outcomes.
These supervisions would be especially, but not uniquely, appropriate for teams that are already working ‘under the influence of’ AMBIT, or who are trying to develop this aspect of their practice.
Each supervision may, where requested or required, include elements of didactic teaching and/or live exercises (‘deliberate practice’) to supplement case discussions.
Active demonstration and the use of a variety of AMBIT practice tools will be standard, and the overarching structure of these sessions will generally follow the AMBIT process of “Thinking Together”, with a special focus on supporting teams to use this technique in a group context (to supplement its use in one-to-one contexts, both formally and informally).
